Transatlantic Journal of Rural Research (TJRR) is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed academic research Journal that publishes original research that advances understanding and discourse on contemporary issues confronting rural communities in Africa, Asia and across the globe. We are interested in discourse that explores and interrogates the definition and depiction of rurality. We welcome articles that interrogates the roles and functionality of rural institutions and their future sustainability in socio-cultural and economic terms. The journal is multidisciplinary in nature and welcomes articles from varied theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches, which contribute to the rural social science literature, as broadly defined by the disciplines of rural sociology, agricultural and economics, geography, history, public health, planning and associated subjects.
Focus and Scope
Original manuscripts in any area of research and policy that specifically affect rural institutions, structures, and processes are sought. Scholars, development practitioners and policy makers are encouraged to submit original articles for review.
